If you want to help people in York
County who have been affected by the recent flooding, United Way is
accepting financial donations for the York County Disaster Relief
Fund.
“This fund is
meant to help people put their lives back together over the next
several weeks and months when the flooding is over,” says Barb
Wentworth, Community Building Director at United Way of York
County. “It’s too soon to tell what those needs might be.”
Money collected
will be distributed to appropriate organizations over the next few
months based on people’s needs.
“It is the
nature of Mainers to care about one another,” adds Wentworth.
“We’re providing a safe and easy way for people to do that.”
